Motion detectors installed in several areas to help further reduce energy usage
"Because of the poor Environmental quality in China in the past several years, residents have more and more concern about the clean air, water, and energy consumption. We launched a Garbage Classification project in 2020 to support the Environmental Agency initiatives, which was led by our HR group and involved all associates in the Suzhou plant. With focused training, our associates now understand the importance of garbage classification to our environment, and we now have strong support from all departments. An energy saving project has been active for the past 3 years and will continue as an improvement project going forward. The focus of the project is reduction in electricity and gas consumption, as well as reduced CO2 emissions. Our target areas have been LED lighting in plant, solar powered streetlights, air conditioning system energy efficiency, and reduced gas consumption through Frame efficiency improvement.
I am very proud of our teams with the efforts and success in the past few years and am excited about new opportunities for the future!

Solar Panels
Eupen, Belgium
In addition to the replacement of old light with LED lights, AstenJohnson Eupen installed solar panels on site in 2017. This initiative enabled AstenJohnson to increase the portion of green energy of total energy consumption. The panels installed can produce up to 225,000 kWh per year, allowing an annual CO2 reduction of 157 tons on average.
